Working in mining and industrial environments means operating under extreme conditions. Underground, temperatures can reach 95°F, while open-pit mines experience significant seasonal variations, with temperatures dropping to as low as −34°F in winter.

These conditions often lead to (excessive) perspiration or wet and damp workwear, which negatively affects the comfort, health, and performance of employees.

In surface mining, employees are also exposed to harsh conditions such as rain, snow, mud, dust, and extreme temperature fluctuations. This quickly leads to work clothes becoming soaked or dirty, which can make working unpleasant and sometimes even unsafe. Drying systems
