After supplying Royal Boskalis Westminster with our innovative, efficient Pronomar-Merus rings several times in the past, we were happy about their new order. Same as on the “Manu Pekka” and the “Queen of the Netherlands”, Boskalis asked us to supply and install our rings on-board another of their Trailing suction hopper dredgers, the MV Gateway:

The following rings were installed:
one ¾1 ” IND ring at the feed pipe separator,
one 1 ½ “ HCI BIO ring at the hydrophore,
one 1 ½ “ HCI ring at the technical water line and, last but definitely not least,
one 14” HCI BIO (350 mm) &
one 18” HCI BIO (450 mm) ring

against growth in the seawater lines. The Merus rings are an environment-friendly, innovative solution to counteract and prevent heavy scaling, which can slow down efficiency and also seriously harm the costly equipment on-board. After installation the rings give off tiny oscillations disturbing the lime scale. The troublesome substances are then simply flushed away leaving the boiler, pipes etc. free from scaling and bringing them back to their initial diameter and performance. The fact that the rings are maintenance-free, thus saving operational costs, rounds off the advantages of that state-of-the-art product.

In keeping with the vessels name, our products could be considered the perfect gateway to even more efficiency and improved water quality!
